Kirstie McLure is Managing Director of Pioneer Productions, one of the UK’s most successful independent production companies.
Kirstie became Managing Director of Pioneer Productions in 2012, having played an integral role in transforming the company into one of the world’s leading producers of innovative, award-winning factual content.

At the helm of the business, she has helped expand its core science remit; from fast-turnaround science documentaries to lifestyle and factual entertainment. She has produced some of Pioneer's most successful series, including the ground breaking ‘In the Womb’, long running cosmology series ‘Universe’ and the critically acclaimed ‘UFO’ series for National Geographic Channels International (NGCI).

She has been at the forefront of innovation for the past twenty years, pioneering new cutting-edge technologies into production, such as 4k and Pioneer’s 3D ‘Storm City’ for Sky. She has extensive knowledge of all aspects of television and the international market, having worked across hundreds of hours of blue chip programming for UK, US and international broadcasters. She is also a seasoned expert in the field of international co-production, having brokered the company’s first tri-continent deal with South Korean production company PAAN Media in the US and Korea for a landmark three-part series ‘Treasures of the Earth’. From this deal, Kirstie went on to launch a joint venture production company with PAAN Media, called Buzz Media. Based in Seoul, Buzz Media will focus on producing 4k natural history and science programming, character-led access docs and factual entertainment formats for UK, Korean and international broadcasters.
