Rachel has a long history spanning the boundaries of factual programming. She joined the BBC from Endemol owned DSP where, as Director of Programmes, she exec produced C4's live coverage of King Richard III's reburial and BBC1's celebrity based living history series '24 Hours In The Past'

Her passion lies in delivering big, genre mixing shows with intelligent, entertaining mass appeal including BAFTA and RTS award winning series such as ‘The Choir’ (BBC2); rig show ‘The Hotel’ (C4); immersive adventure 'Tribal Wives' (BBC2), living history 'Coal House' (BBC2), dark humour doc 'The Lock Up' (BBC1).

Rachel trained as a journalist and credits her story-telling determination to her 10 years spent in news and current affairs often undercover, here and abroad, for 'Panorama' and 'Kenyon Confronts'. Whilst there she was also part of the BBC3 launch team.

She has worked on every continent, barring Antarctica - still a burning goal - and has circumnavigated the world in a global yacht race. Subsequently, Rachel combined work with her passion for sailing when, for ITV and global broadcasters, she negotiated rights and covered the Grand Prix Volvo Ocean Race.

As John Craven's sidekick she reported for 'Countryfile' for 3 years making headlines with breaking science and environmental stories. She portentously left on the day of a total eclipse! BBC Breakfast News and, where she hails from, BBC Wales Today also let her loose on screen.

After leaving the BBC a decade ago she has variously worked as series producer, series editor and exec producer for indies Love, Dragonfly, Twenty Twenty, Indus and DSP with significant time working in Wales, Birmingham and Bristol as well as London.
