Based in National Geographic Channels International’s (NGCI) Global Content Hub in London, Simon Young is a Commissioning Executive Producer responsible for developing a slate of series and films that air on the Channel in over 170 countries and in 45 languages.

With extensive experience as an Executive Producer for UK, US and international programming, Young previously oversaw the production of the headline-grabbing documentary that located the remains of King Richard III beneath a car park.Richard III: The King In The Car Parkwas the highest-rated specialist factual programme in Channel 4’s history.

During his 15-year career, Young has worked as a producer, writer and director for companies such as Darlow Smithson Productions, Pioneer, Brook Lapping and Atlantic Productions, helping to make a number of landmark specials and returning series such asNazi Megastructuresfor National Geographic Channel and PBS,AtlasandAtlas 4Dfor Discovery Channel andWWI: Finding The Lost Battalionsfor Channel 4.
