Mark Procter

Mark Procter is Acting Head of Production and Development, Factual Entertainment, for Discovery Networks International, a division of Discovery Communications.

Based in London, Procter develops and produces factual entertainment content for Discovery Networks International’s female flagship channels, including TLC, which reaches more than 393 million subscribers in 191 markets around the globe.

Prior to his current position, Procter was Executive Producer & Director for Discovery Networks International. Recent credits for Discovery Networks International include specials FIRST HEARTBEAT and SEX, LIES AND ONLINE AFFAIRS, new series SEPARATED AT BIRTH, hit series LAST CHANCE SALON, and ‘Shocking Love’ documentaries THE MAN WITH NO PENIS and SHOCKING BREASTFEEDING. Procter also executive produced a series of top-rating documentaries featuring bodybuilder and former glamour model Jodie Marsh for TLC UK. Other credits include THE SEX HOSPITAL, MY NAKED SECRET and THE CHARLOTTE CROSBY EXPERIENCE.

With extensive experience producing in non-English speaking territories he also oversaw Discovery Networks CEEMEA productions and commissioned original local programming in Poland and Russia, brokering deals for the best in existing global formats including THE GREAT BAKE OFF and DON’T TELL THE BRIDE.

Before joining Discovery as an executive producer in 2010, Procter was a senior producer at BBC Entertainment working across multi-platform projects that supported the flagship international drama brands Doctor Who, Torchwood and Merlin.

From 2007-2008, as a consulting producer for television production and development, he travelled across the United States, Asia and Europe training editorial staff and developing formats for local productions. In the UK, he has worked with top independent production companies to produce and direct a variety of observational documentaries, children’s shows and factual formatted series for all terrestrial channels.
