Before becoming one of the founders of Lion Television, Nick was a producer and director at the BBC which he joined as a graduate trainee. While at the BBC he worked on a range of current affairs and investigative programmes. He directed single documentaries for Inside Story and 40 Minutes and was the series producer of “The Trial” for BBC2, the first time television cameras had been allowed inside British courtrooms. He also created “Airport” for BBC1 which went on to be the longest running doc-soap on British television.
Nick's most recent credits at Lion include; “Rebuilding The World Trade Center” (BAFTA and RTS Award winner) “A Very British Airline” BBC2, “The Dambusters Great Escape” C4, “Eddie Izzard’s Mandela Marathons” Sky1, “Bomber Boys with Ewan McGregor” BBC1, “Hunt Vs Lauda: F1’s Greatest Racing Rivals” BBC2.
Nick founded Lion USA in 2001 and has overall responsibility for the American subsidiary. Recent productions include, “Restaurant Redemption”, “Chinese Made Easy” and Junk Foor Flip” for Cooking Channel. “Money from Strangers” MTV”, the multi-Emmy Award winning “Cash Cab” for Discovery and “America Revealed” for PBS.
He is also chair of the Indie Training Fund which provides technical and professional training to the TV industry. He is also a trustee of The Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company. Nick keeps bees, has a very small flock of sheep and is currently completing an MBA at The Berlin School of Creative Leadership.
