Jamie Munro is Joint Managing Director of Greenbird Media, a production company incubator, investor and business accelerator specialising predominantly in entertainment, factual entertainment and factual producers.

Greenbird has been created to help production companies achieve their full potential, leaving creative talent to concentrate on programme production while Greenbird focuses on the commercial development of each business.

With more than 30 years’ experience in television production, Jamie Munro and his Joint MD, Stuart Mullin will provide producers access to innovative funding models, offer expertise in the commercial exploitation of intellectual property and licensing deals; give strategic and operational support and offer back-office administration systems. Targeted at aspiring, new and small existing Indies, they have access to investment finance to accelerate those companies’ growth plans.

Greenbird only takes minority investment positions in production businesses and has so far invested in 7 start up or early stage production companies

Jamie left Shine TV in 2012 after three-and-a-half years as Joint Managing Director. Previously he worked as Commercial Director at Tiger Aspect and prior to that spent 12 years at the BBC in various roles including Commercial Director for Drama, Entertainment and Children’s.

Greenbird has secured a distribution deal with BBC Worldwide, giving the company a first look on finished programming and formats that emerge from new independent production companies backed by Greenbird. BBC Worldwide supports over 40 UK independent production companies with similar distribution, output and development deals.
