Scott Hooker

Senior Executive Producer, Long-form Programming

MSNBC

Scott Hooker is the Senior Executive Producer of Long-form Programming at MSNBC. 

He has responsibility for the development and production of all documentary programming on the network: more than 30 long-form hours every weekend, ranging from the popular series Lockup, which explores America's prison system, to series on human trafficking, forensics and various social and criminal justice topics.  He and MSNBC's Long-form unit have teamed up with NBC and MSNBC anchors Brian Williams, Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews to produce documentaries on breaking news, historical and political subjects.  His work has been honored with a range of industry awards, including three national Emmy nominations, an Alfred I. duPont award and four regional Emmys.

Mr. Hooker has been involved with documentaries at MSNBC from the time they were introduced at the network in 1999.  Prior to that, he was a founding senior producer of the channel when it launched in 1996.
