Sally Miles

Founder & CEO

Passion Distribution

Sally Miles is founder and CEO of Passion Distribution and has worked in the television business for nearly 20 years. Prior to entering the business of distribution she was the President and COO of September Films (UK & US) and September Films International.

Miles began working in programme production at September Films in 1992 and spent the next five years working on productions, taking on roles from production manager to executive producer, and then went from production to management becoming General Manager of September Films in 1995. Over the next three years Miles took the business forward and in 1999 she became Managing Director. Miles set up and launched September International in October 2000, the distribution arm of September Films. The operation hugely increased the company's overall production output and Miles started to build up trusted relationships with international broadcasters. In 2002 Miles moved to the US to capitalise on her relationships with American broadcasters and launched September USA. She became President and COO, building an American division for the company's original programme sales and overseeing all sales, production and delivery to US broadcasters including putting Bridezillas on air for WEtv.

In 2008, Miles launched Passion Distribution, an independent international distribution business.  Over the last 4 years Miles has secured exclusive relationships with many highly respected producers and broadcasters including Scripps Networks International's HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network and Travel Channel, Sundance Channel, World of Wonder, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, Weather Channel and Landmark Films. As well as selling programmes and formats worldwide Passion is responsible for getting US and UK commissions and co-productions on behalf of the producers it represents. Passion also invests in production deficit financing.

At the end 2012 Miles took Passion into the Tinopolis Group with Passion Distribution taking over Mentorn International’s catalogue and staff and increasing the size of the business.
