Richard McKerrow

Love Productions

Richard McKerrow is the Creative and Managing Director of Love Productions, which he co-founded with Anna Beattie in October 2004.  He has Executive Produced many of Love Productions’ critically acclaimed factual series, single documentaries such as Stairlift to Heaven, Me and My Mum, A Dad is Born, among others, and formats including award-winning series such as The Baby Borrowers, Famous Rich and Homeless,  Cirque de Celebrite, Britain’s Missing Top Model, Young Mums Mansion, Filthy Rich and Homeless, Tower Block of Commons, The Great British Bake-Off, Famous Rich and In The Slums, The Great British Weather, and Make Bradford British.  

Love Productions’ shows and formats have sold around Europe and the world and Richard executive produced an American version of The Baby Borrowers for NBC. Richard has given Masterclasses in Factual and Entertainment television and has appeared on panels and as a guest speaker at various television festivals around the world.  He also regularly travels to give lectures and screenings of Love’s work to television professionals and media students across the world.

Richard McKerrow began his career as a print journalist for The Nation magazine in New York. He also worked for Yorkshire Television in their Documentaries and Current Affairs department as a producer/director before joining Channel 4 in 1997 as a Commissioning Editor for Education. He was Creative Director and then Managing Director of Maverick Television (2002-2004), before he set up Love Productions.
