Rachel Job

SVP, UnScripted Content

A+E Networks UK

Rachel Job is Channel Editor, HISTORY & H2, for A+E Networks® UK and is responsible for all content, both acquired and commissioned, for both channels across all A+E Networks UK territories.

Since joining the company in 2007 Job has acquired, commissioned and executive produced numerous hours of factual programming for HISTORY and was integral to the launch of sister channel MILITARY HISTORY in 2008. In 2013, new channel H2, which replaced MILITARY HISTORY, was added to her remit.

Job’s most high profile commissions to date are: Mud Men, presented by Johnny Vaughan and Steve Brooker, which was nominated for a Broadcast Digital Award; 2013’s Shaun Ryder on UFOs, which was nominated for a Broadcasting Press Guild award; and Grave Trade, the most successful local commission on HISTORY date.

Other recent commissions include Great Martian War and Pawn Stars UK, a spin-off of the top-rating US format.

Job also acquired MGM drama series Vikings for HISTORY in the UK, Poland and Romania. The show’s linear UK TV premier in May 2014 delivered the highest rating broadcast ever on HISTORY in the UK and it was the top performing programme ever to air on a UK pay-TV factual channel.

Job reports to Heather Jones, VP of Programming for A+E Networks UK.

Prior to working at A+E Networks UK, Job held the position of Head of Acquisitions and Marketing at indie distributor/producer 3DD Entertainment.

A+E Networks UK acquires over 600 hours of international programming each year and produces an additional 100+ hours of original commissions and co-productions to complement its varied factual slate.

A+E Networks UK, a joint venture between A+E Networks and BSkyB, is a broadcaster representing a portfolio of high-quality, ground-breaking factual and entertainment channels including HISTORY®, HISTORY®HD, Lifetime®, Lifetime® HD, Crime + Investigation™, Crime + Investigation™ HD and H2®. A+E Networks® UK launched in November 1995, and has channels available in 76 countries across the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux, Central & Eastern Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, and is available in more than 85 million homes and in 17 languages.
