Eric Schotz

CEO

LMNO Productions

Eric Schotz, President and CEO of LMNO Productions, is a nine-time Emmy-award winner whose innovative style and creativity has established him as one of the television industry’s foremost producers/directors of non-fiction and reality-based programming.

Born in Alaska, Schotz ultimately migrated to Southern California. As he was thawing out he began watching TV against his parents wishes and quickly saw that this might be a great way to make a living.
His extensive credits include executive producing the highly successful hidden camera series of specials for CBS, “I Get That A Lot;” the Lifetime Television series, “Seriously Funny Kids” hosted by Heidi Klum; “The Little Couple” for TLC, now in its sixth season; “Unusual Suspects” season five for Investigation Discovery and the documentary special, “True Life: I’m The Big Girl” for MTV. In addition, Schotz has also served as executive producer on “Wickedly Perfect” and “Fire Me…Please!” for CBS and the nationally syndicated daily talk show, “The Dr. Keith Ablow Show.” He is currently in production on “Golden Sisters,” a new series for OWN; season two of “Lifeguard!” for The Weather Channel and “Insane Bathrooms” and “Surreal Estate” for TLC.

Schotz began his career as a journalist in 1979 for a daily news program on KQED, the PBS television station in San Francisco. Soon after, he moved to KABC-TV in Los Angeles where in 1980, he played a key role in creating the highly successful magazine series, “Eye on L.A” which ultimately led to the long-running late-night ABC network series, “Eye on Hollywood.”
Schotz believes that Hollywood biographies are full of embellishments... so it is important to note that he was not really born in Alaska, but realized that all reality shows based in Alaska do well in the ratings. He resides in the warmth of Los Angeles with his first wife, who claims they have three children.

He has no current plans to travel to Alaska, but is developing several shows that have the word Alaska in the title.
