Brent Montgomery

CEO

Leftfield Entertainment

Brent Montgomery is founder and CEO of Leftfield Entertainment, the US-based “super-indie” media, entertainment and production group established by Montgomery in 2013. The Leftfield Entertainment portfolio currently encompasses Leftfield Pictures (Pawn Stars), Sirens Media (Real Housewives of New Jersey), Loud TV (the upcoming Tiny House Nation) and Outpost Entertainment, a joint venture with veteran producer Jodi Flynn (Hoarders).

Leftfield Entertainment continues to broaden its industry footprint with new acquisitions, joint ventures and overall and first-look deals with producers.

Since the sale of its first series in 2008 (The Principal’s Office),Leftfield has become one of reality television’s major players. The company, which operates out of its New York City headquarters (with additional offices in Los Angeles), develops and produces a broad range of unscripted programming, both domestic and international. Leftfield has produced more than 400 hours of programming and nearly 800 TV episodes.

Montgomery and Leftfield made an indelible mark on the industry in 2009, producing the breakout hit, and subsequent franchise, Pawn Stars. In the last four years, Leftfield Pictures has been commissioned to produce more than 350 episodes of History’s ratings winner (104 episodes have been ordered for 2014 alone, the largest for any docu-series in reality history), spawning the entire “hidden treasures” reality TV genre.  Pawn Stars spinoffs include American Restoration, Counting Cars, and additional international Pawn Stars formats, including Pawn Stars UK (in production on its second season). Other local productions are in the works in Australia and South Africa.

Pawn Stars continues to set ratings records for History, and often reigns as the #1 cable program among adults 18-49 week to week. Counting Cars was History’s #1 series premiere of all time in 2012, while American Restoration continually delivers nearly three million viewers weekly.

Other current Leftfield series include Oddities (Science), Guntucky (CMT), Clash of the Ozarks(Discovery),Celebrity Home Raiders (Lifetime) and Blood, Sweat and Heels (Bravo), which premiered in January as the network’s highest-rated series premiere among all key demos in network history, with 2.5 million total viewers and over 1.4 million P18-49.

In April 2013,Leftfield Entertainmentacquired Sirens Media, run by longtime producing partners Rebecca Toth Diefenbach and Valerie Haselton. The producer of Bravo’s hit docu-soap Real Housewives of New Jersey, in its sixth season, Sirens Media also produces Thicker Than Water, in season two, and is currently in production on Real Housewives spin-off, Manzo’d with Children. Sirens also currently has seven series in production for Discovery ID, including Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?, Nightmare Next Door and Deadly Affairs, hosted by Susan Lucci.

Also in 2013, Montgomery and unscripted television producer and executive Nick Rigg launched Loud TV, a joint venture between Rigg and Leftfield Entertainment. Rigg, who serves as Loud TV’s president, heads the full-service, entertainment and production company, which leverages two decades of Rigg’s TV development and production experience, with particular expertise in lifestyle programming and branded entertainment (Rigg oversaw more than 600 episodes of worldwide hit series House Hunters International). Loud TV has green-lit productions for FYI (Tiny House Nation), Nat Geo and Travel Channel, and is in active development on a number of projects for Spike, Bravo, HGTV, Food Network and Cooking Channel.
